Nagash book, any thoughts?

Postby Abaddon » Wed Sep 03, 2014 5:58 pm

Hey all, I wanted to find out if anyone has been through the new book and what your thoughts might be. I'm considering buying it and I wanted to know if it's worthwhile.

Everything I've read about the book says its the best fluff GWs written - and the TK players will buy the book for the UL list only helping them.

The lore of i death is a summoning lore which is a blatant money grab (summon a monster, summon a character, summon a unit etc)

Overall I've heard good things - and there are at least 3 more books in this same vein coming.

That's good to hear. But 3 more books scares my wallet. I'm just happy to potentially dust off my vampires, or at least play them like the dusty beasts they are.

I am almost done reading the story. It is pretty good. The only reason I picked it up was for the fluff and I think I should of just went out and got a novel. Far cheaper and just as entertaining. Gaming wise its mostly scenarios. And a lot of them might be rehashed from the old warhammer campaigns book. The combined list, magic lore, special characters and new monsterous infantry guy are only few pages.

I hope it's something I can actually build an army list from with complete rules, pores, wargear etc.

I can tell you that you will need the VC book, the TK book, and the end times: Nagash book to use the Undead Legions list --- all refs to existing units require their actual book...including the old spell lists and magic items.

Only the brand new units, new spell lore, and Nagash are in the new book

I'm sure they have done this to be helpful, I mean who really wants one complete reference source anyway? Well, perhaps I'll just retire to the workshop and concentrate on painting again for a year.

4 books, lol. Oh well the gaming community could stand to be a bit more fit anyway. Fit gamers live longer and buy more.
