Empire Wizard Advice

Postby gpfredette » Sun May 13, 2012 7:32 pm

Good day,

I recently decided to get into Fantasy (along with my son) and am working on two armies.

I pretty well have them planned out but I need some advice on what types of Empire Wizards I should build.

I have an Empire Wizard Box set plus the Celestial Hurricanum / Luminark of Hysh kit.

I think a bright Wizard is a must but I need advice on the other 2 that I can build.

I don't plan on running a Wizard Lord so I can build either a Celestial or a Light wizard from the Celestial Hurricanum / Luminark of Hysh kit so either of them is available.

Any advice on which 2 be good to build would be most appreciated, a quick reason as to why and which parts to use from Wizard Kit would be fantastic as well.

I appreciate any and all feedback.

Thank you,

If you need an exact wizard for each school, then Shadow/Death/Beasts is the way to go as those schools work well with Empire.

Secondary to that, Light and Fire.

I made up "generic wizards" for my army.

Good day,

Could you give me a rough idea how you made 'generic' wizards?

Did you use the wizard box set?

That would be ideal then I can just pick my school.

Thanks for the reply's so far.

The older wizard models (not on the GW site anymore) tend to be more "generic". They are painted in basic colors, not specific to a school.

Also, using the current Empire Wizard boxset, you could make a wizard with a globe, for example. It doesn't have to be a celestial wizard, paint the globe as a crystal ball or something. All wizards have those, right? :)

My point was mostly, if you like the model then use it! However, you don't have to have a wizard with a fur coat if you want to use beasts magic. Conversly, if you love that model with a fur coat, there is nothing to say that he cannot be a fire wizard either.
