Orks in 8th Edition

Postby DrunkenSamurai » Fri Aug 11, 2017 8:56 am

I have jumped back into 40K with 8th ed after several years away. I am having a great time with my Orks but I am unsure how to deal with high toughness, high wound and high save units. What are your best/favorite Ork units for dealing with vehicles?

Nobz with power klaws.
Lagre mobs of boyz quantity over quality.
Lootas.
Kanz and drednaughts.
Zap gunz.

I really like my Deffkoptas and Nobz. I tried Lootas, Deffdreads and Kanz in my first game but I am thinking I need to get these back on the table. I am not yet sold on the big blocks of Boyz. They seem to die way too fast.

Boyz over Toyz is always the answer. The standard list I have seen is 3 mobs of 30 shoota boyz. It also wise to use a Weird Boy to deep strike them near targets.

I have been trying larger mobs but they die so quick I can't see the value. The weirdboy is just about ready for battle so we will see how that works.
