Bolt Action vs. Nuts?

Postby Lightningman » Mon May 06, 2013 8:48 pm

I spoke to a friend of mine today who is big into historicals and mentioned I was thinking of taking a peak at bolt action and he said in his opinion that it was ok but that a rules system called Nuts was better for 28mm ww2.

So has anyone else seen or played this other rules set? I'm kinda into the idea now of doing a 28mm ww2 game but thinking it might be good to read both sets of rules first.

I have played Nuts, and I did nothing for me, it seemed that the whole game we were shooting at each other and not killing anything. The rules felt clunky to me.

I play Bolt Action now, although most army builds feel the same if your are not using the theater selectors in the army books.

I have also played Disposable Hero's which is better than Nuts IMO.

Bolt Action has the advantage right now since there is a lot of folks getting into it, so it is easy to get games in over Nuts or any other rules.
