Improving Battle Timer

Postby theHman » Wed May 22, 2013 3:41 pm

Hey guys,

For a fun side project, I'm developing a game timer app a la Battle Timer but with a few added features.

Before I send all the details to my programmer, I figured I'd ask you guys for some input.
So, if you don't mind, please tell me...

- What app (if any) do you use to time your turns?
- What do you like about said app?
- What don't you like?
- What would you do to improve it?
- What features would you like to see in a game timer app for Warmachine?

Thanks for the feedback.

I use Chess Timer. I like that is has a split screen so both players can see their time left and easily hit the screen to put it on the opponents time. It's also very minimalist.

No complaints about it really, very small and very stable.

I guess make is Warmachine/Hordes centric but that's more design based. Having a pause button would be a little convenient.

Pretty much what I described above. It would also be cool to see something that shows you how the Turns broke down after the game, so you can see where you spent a lot of time and maybe improve on that feedback.

Hey Harun,

I use Merkmatics Chess Clock which I think I paid $0.99 for. It functions great as a death clock, large numbers in the display, easy to read and use. The app, however, is not ideal for timed turns since it is just a chess clock. So, I basically have both players play out their turns, then I reser the clock for the next set of turns. I dont know how easily other clocks do both timed turns and deathclock, but something to think about.

Thanks for making this, I am looking forward to seeing it!

Rest assured, deathclock along with regular timed turns will be featured!

I think the best thing would be a quick add button so that time can be added for extensions on the fly. :bravo:
